About eight out of nine appointees were sworn in according to laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria while the remainder whose name was not mentioned reportedly had issues to rectify with the state register.
Speaking at the occasion, the council boss admonished the newly appointed leaders to see governance as the will of God not of man as he tasked them to excellent performance.
"that you are appointed members of council today is not your will or the will of man but it is the will of God, I pray that God will grant you wisdom to handle Local Government affairs. I task you to join hands with us to make Uyo LGA a better place"
The Uyo council leader who served the oaths in a solemn manner spared no words in his address as he called the new appointees to order regarding political performance in their separate wards.
"there is nothing I appreciate more as teamwork we have youths, women and elderly in your team. Gone are those days when people came to take money but did not deliver their wards and units, make sure that you deliver in your area"
Umoh further reiterated that the council will provide the enabling environment for optimum performance as he showed solidarity to a few who did not make it to the list, urging them to work with the appointees for the sake of progress in the LGA.
Also, the Uyo born politician introduced his campaign plan termed as operation 20/30 which he explained to mean that a group of 20 politicians at the ward level must each have 30 voters in preparation for 2019.
"our new program is called operation 20/30, this means that each 20 in each ward must have about 30 people each who are totally loyal to him in the units "
