It is obvious that marriage is a life partnership that could attract the scope of the art. In this story it happened exactly this way , One if his wealthy clients ordered these portraits in order to give a message to society about how arranged aristocrates marriages might end up bad.
Marriage a-la mode emerged from this idea , arranged marriages , fancy but empty meetings , and diseases that caught from secret relationships outside the married life. The portraits explains the story from better to worse. Family meetings , forced relationships and then secret lovers after that it is all blood. The last portrait shows the sick lady which got a sexual disease from her lover and she eventually dies.
