The Golden Temple (Sri Harmandir Sahib) in Amritsar, is the holiest shrine in Sikhism and attracts millions globally due to its free community kitchen (Langar) and the peaceful, spiritual atmosphere. Even staying so close to the place , I never been to the place in all those years. I guess whosover lives in Delhi NCR have visited the place to witness the grand complex. The place is unique in itself. The upper floors of the temple are adorned with over 750 kilograms of pure gold, giving it its famous name i.e Golden Temple. I find it surprising that one of my Muslim friend asked me to visit the place. Although the guy hesitate to visit any hindu temple, I find him quite intrigued to visit the Sikh temple. So without any hesitation, I went to witness the grand Sikh temple with him.
We took a road drive to visit the place. We wanted to enjoy and my friend particularly wanted to get away from the office stress. It was a enjoyable trip with many little exploration all throughout the trip. We reached the city late at night, and amazed to see the grand replica of the Gurudwara, right at the entrance of the city. It was a huge gateway to the city, that has many stories to tell.
It was quite late to reach, so we prefer to check in at the hotel, which was a decent one, I prefer to write something about the hotel in another post. We took early sleep, so that to visit the place in early hours. We took a morning auto to visit the shrine. The place was buzzing with many visitors. The atmosphere was quite different that any other place. There were a little market with multiple shops along the pathway. It felt like we were on a different world. There was a sudden shif of time from the city where we stayed to the area where the Gurudwara is situated.
After walking for a while and cherishing the pleasant atmosphere, we reached the entrance of the Gurudwara. The building was illuminated with lights and look fabulous.
Entering the main, get us to a new sphere and I belive it is good to write a detailed post on it with multiple photographs.
In good faith - Peace!!
