Λάζλο Μπίρο 1899 – 1985 [1]
László József Bureau (Hungarian: László József Bureau, Spanish: Ladislao Biro; born September 29 1899 - died 24 November 1985 at the age of 86 years) is the creator of the modern ballpoint pen. Production of the first pen displayed in an international exhibition in Budapest, Hungary in 1931. This creation is patented in Paris in 1938.
As a journalist, he observed that the ink used in newspapers can dry quickly, so that the paper be dry and free of debris due to the ink. The trial on the same type of ink fountain pen (a pen with ink dilute) was a failure because the ink would not flow into the tip of the pen as it is still too dense for the capillary tube pen. Together with his brother Georg, a chemist, he developed a new type of tip containing a ball that spins freely inside the container; take the ink from the ink spot while rotating and dropping ink onto the paper while turning back.
