No, this is not the new STEEMBAY logo... but this is how we feel right now. We really, really wanted to have a decision for you ready, to be able to pay out the bounty of 60 SBD before christmas.
BUT THERE IS SIMPLY TOO MUCH CREATIVITY ON STEEMIT
We got more than 70 entries on the contest, which is amazing, overwhelming and simply great. Initially we wanted only decide between the three most voted by the community. At that time we expected like 10 contributions to the contest. This would have been quite fair, easy and fast.
The issues:
- We will have to work on a daily basis and got a lot of great ideas that are just not practicable in this daily use.
- unknown / new users with great ideas, but no follower base nearly have NO chance of winning
- users with a large followerbase could have sent any crap and let their followers vote for the contribution (Gladly, it seems this did not happen...)
- We were reported by several users we trust, that it was difficult and laggy to place votes during the last hours
- Those placing a sloppy idea very fast had a big time advantage in relation to those putting a lot of effort and time in developing their ideas
- Most placing votes did it for national / personal / friendship reasons, which is totally understandable, but not suitable for a reasonable selection.
The solution
We will look into ALL contributions, test them on the platforms, compare creativity, usability, professionality AND VOTES and decide this way in the coming days which will be the future STEEMBAY logo.
For the additional waiting time we will add several honorable-mention-prices, because we think that so much creativity has to be honored in a better way, than initially planned.
TL&DR
- We will need some time to decide the winner
- still EVERYBODY, not only the three most voted have a Chance to win.
- Price for the winner is still 60 SBD but we add several SBD and places for honorable mentions
- STEEMIT is so full of creativity, we are still astonished.
