I have a Gamo Shadow 1000, which I bought... at least fifteen years ago, I think. It's a great little tool, never had any issues with it, other than the fact that the scope didn't hold zero particularly well, so I took it off. I use it mostly for killing raccoons that break into my workshop and rabbits that get into my garden. I also like to pick off chipmunks, even though that's technically illegal (if anyone asks, I'll just say that one of my cats must have killed it).
My father recently bought an air rifle, also a 4,5-mm Gamo, but I don't know which model off the top of my head. Both are single-pump break-action. His is also suppressed, unlike mine.
Between the two of us, we have several different types of pellets, including PBA, but I've never used anything other than pure lead hollow points. I also have a speed loader for mine, but apparently no-one makes them anymore, so good luck finding one.
So yeah, get whatever you think you need. Also, maintenance? WTF is that? I am Russian, if gun not use black powder, I not even bother cleaning it.
