My unlucky FTX Story - Losing everything after only two weeks from signing up. + Analysis of current situation, where FTT flies without masters...
Good evening dear friends of Hive, until now I have never touched this topic, not for who knows what reasons, I knew that I was taking a risk even if I never expected what then happened, like none of us I think... I'm actually talking about of FTX, in which I too fell completely, but the beauty, so to speak of course, because I have the cloud like Adam Family over my head, I had registered on the platform only two weeks before... With this post I want to entertain you a little with the story of my misfortune, but above all to give advice and a testimony of how important it is to have ownership of your own Tokens, i.e. own the private keys, because if they are not in your hands, what you have are only chatter, at any moment you could lose everything.
Buona sera cari amici di Hive, fino ad ora non ho mai toccato questo argomento, non per chissà quali motivi, sapevo che rischiavo anche se non mi sarei mai aspettato quello che poi è successo, come nessuno di noi credo... Sto parlando infatti di FTX, nel quale ci sono caduto in pieno anch'io, ma il bello, per modo di dire ovviamente, perchè io ho la nuvola come Fantozzi sopra la testa, mi ero iscritto alla piattaforma solo due settimane prima... Con questo post voglio intrattenervi un po' con il racconto della mia sfortuna, ma sopratutto dare un consiglio e una testimonianza di quanto sia importante avere la proprietà dei propri Token, cioè possedere le chiavi private, perchè se non sono in mano vostra, quello che avete sono solo chiacchiere, da un momento all'altro potete perdere tutto.

At the end of October I had accumulated some profits from passive income such as Staking and Farming, which I wanted to increase a bit with speculation, without great pretensions, just to round off the income a bit. So since leverage was no longer allowed on Binance, I decided to validate my account on FTX, which I had only used for the old Blockfolio program, even before FTX bought it.
So I had deposit about 5000 DOGE on FTX, which at that time was worth 11 cents circa, so it was around 500 dollars more or less. All smooth, account validated, the DOGEs arrived immediately and I started my operations with Futures, mainly on BITCOIN, the other Cryptocurrencies are too volatile and manipulable to follow the nature of a graph and apply studies.
By applying the Fibonacci method and working only on retracing of the most evident impulses, I had started to accumulate, so much so that one day I exaggerated with the lever, which was very wrong, but luckily for me that time it went well and I managed to accumulate 1500 Dollars... In my account it read about 1400 Dollars plus 1300 DOGE that I had kept aside, since it was performing very well at the time.
Happy with the progress, that day I went to sleep peacefully, unaware of the bomb that was about to explode the following day...
The following day, November 6th I see that the market had moved downwards, I read some news to understand what had happened and I read from the story of CZ who had withdrawn his offer for FTX, I thought nothing so serious... In the meantime I connected to FTX and changed the Dollars earned into DOGE, to transfer them elsewhere, safely, which I would have done in any case, because the pre-set quota to keep within FTX was 500 Dollars, where for each good accumulation, I would have brought them in to secure destination. I go through all the procedure to request the withdrawal and close the application.
In the evening I check if the withdrawal had taken place and to my amazement I see that my DOGEs were still stuck on FTX, while the market began to show stronger signs of decline. I try to find out and read that the withdrawals were temporarily suspended for technical reasons and that they would soon be restored, that I was already getting nervous because the DOGEs were starting to lose their value and I would have exchanged them for stablecoins, once arrived at their destination.
Alla fine di Ottobre avevo accumulato alcuni profitti da rendite passive come Staking e Farming, che volevo incrementare un po' con della speculazione, senza grandi pretese, giusto per arrotondare un po' le entrate. Così dato che su Binance non si poteva più esercitare in leva, ho deciso di convalidare il mio conto su FTX, che utilizzavo solo per il vecchio programma Blockfolio, ancora da prima che FTX lo acquistasse.
Così versi circa 5000 DOGE su FTX, che in quel momento valevano 11 centesimi, per cui era una cifra attorno ai 500 Dollari più o meno. Tutto liscio, conto convalidato, i DOGE sono arrivati subito e io ho iniziato le mie operazioni con i Futures, prevalentemente su BITCOIN, le altre Cryptovalute sono troppo volatili e manipolabili per seguire la natura di un grafico e applicare degli studi.
Applicando il metodo Fibonacci e lavorando solo sui rintracciamenti degli impulsi più evidenti avevo iniziato ad accumulare, tanto che un giorno esagerai col la leva, cosa sbagliatissima, ma quella volta per mia fortuna mi andò bene arrivai ad accumulare 1500 Dollari... Nel mio conto si leggevano circa 1400 Dollari più 1300 DOGE che avevo mantenuto da parte, visto che in quel periodo stava performando molto bene.
Felice dei progressi, quel giorno andai a dormire sereno, ignaro della bomba che stava per scoppiare il giorno seguente...
Il giorno seguente, il 6 Novembre vedo che il mercato si era mosso a ribasso, mi leggo un po' di news per capire cosa fosse successo e leggo dalla vicenda di CZ che aveva ritirato la sua offerta per FTX, pensai nulla di così grave... Nel frattempo mi collegavo ad FTX e cambiai i Dollari guadagnati in DOGE, per trasferirli altrove, al sicuro, cosa che avrei fatto in ogni caso, perchè la quota prefissata da tenere all'interno di FTX era di 500 Dollari, dove ad ogni buon accumulo avrei prelevato per metterli in sicurezza. Faccio tutta la procedura per richiedere il prelievo e chiudo l'applicazione.
Alla sera controllo se il prelievo era avvenuto e vedo con mio stupore che i miei DOGE erano ancora fermi su FTX, mentre il mercato iniziava a dare segni più forti di ribasso. Cerco di informarmi e leggo che i prelievi erano momentaneamente sospesi per questioni tecniche e che sarebbero stati presto ripristinati, che già li per li, mi stavo innervosendo perchè i DOGE stavano iniziando a perdere il loro valore e li avrei cambiati con delle stablecoin, una volta giunti a destinazione.

However nothing is restored, not even the following day, but I still had access to my account, so I was ritire the withdrawal order and exchange a good part of the DOGE in USD, because the matter smelled bad to me and I didn't want to see the value of my Tokens plummet... In fact, in the following hours the market began to collapse as you will well remember, until it reached very low values in the following days with losses even higher than 60/70% for some Cryptocurrencies.
Among these, the most affected was FTT, the native of the FTX Exchange, of that big piece of shit named Sam broke ass, who played with people's money, like a spoiled and junkie teenager.
Tuttavia nulla viene ripristinato, nemmeno il giorno seguente, ma avevo ancora accesso al mio conto, così ritiro l'ordine di prelievo e cambio buona parte dei DOGE in USD, perchè la faccenda mi puzzava e non volevo vedere il valore dei miei Token precipitare... Infatti, nelle ore successive il mercato iniziò a crollare come ben ricorderete, fino ad arrivare nei giorni successivi a toccare valori molto bassi con perdite anche superiori al 60/70% per alcune Cryptovalute.
Tra queste la più colpita fu proprio FTT, la nativa dell'Exchange FTX, di quel gran pezzo di merda di Sam rotto in culo, che ha giocato con i soldi delle persone, come un adolescente sbandato e viziato.

What did I "intelligently" do, still having access to the account, I bought 100 FTT for pure speculation at maximum risk, when it was worth 1 Dollar. Which in any case was nonsense, a pity that however it would have been good nonsense if I had done it in another Exchange and not there, given that these days it has tripled its value, reaching almost 3 dollars. In fact this thing is against all logic after what happened, but for this I want to make a hypothesis as to why...
The craziest thing I've noticed about FTT these days is the trading volume that only on Binance I noticed two days ago, when it hit its recent highs, the volume recorded the value of 180 million USD traded in the last 24 hours , absolutely unconventional values if we consider that we are talking about a Token without a home anymore, because it failed, without a project that carries it forward, without a team that manages and follows its development...

Cosa ho fatto io “intelligentemente”, avendo ancora accesso all'account, ho acquistato per purissima speculazione a massimo rischio, 100 FTT, quando valeva 1 Dollaro. Il che in qualsiasi caso era una fesseria, peccato che però sarebbe stata una fesseria buona se lo avessi fatto in un altro Exchange e non li, visto che questi giorni ha triplicato il suo Valore, arrivando a Sfiorare i 3 Dollari. Infatti questa cosa è contro ogni logica dopo quello che è successo, ma proprio per questo voglio fare una supposizione del perchè...
La cosa più assurda che ho notato in questi giorni riguardo FTT è il volume di scambi che solo su Binance ho notato due giorni fa, quando ha toccato i suoi massimi recenti, il volume registrava la cifra di 180 milioni di Dollari scambiati nelle ultime 24 ore, valori fuori dagli schemi assolutamente se consideriamo che stiamo parlando di un Token senza più una casa, perchè fallita, senza più un progetto che lo porta avanti, senza più un team che ne dirige e segue lo sviluppo...

This story probably brought some hope, with the more concrete fact of the recovery of over 3.5 billion in real estate and non-real estate values by the Bahamas authorities and the 5 billion dollars recovered in cash and Cryptocurrencies declared not many days ago by FTX attorney Adam Landis. We are talking about enormous value, for a total of 8.5 million recovered, but we are still far from the total value of FTX creditors which is estimated at over 30 billion. But all of this has certainly given a nice boost of confidence to customers who have lost their money and also to the general market as a whole.
Let's say that now, with companies and regulations, Cryptocurrencies are less Far West compared to a few years ago, surely this implies that we will no longer see the past numbers of the market with all the modern regulations, because they certainly limit many large investors and can make them desist , but it is certainly safer, at least a little for those who believe in the sector and also want to invest in their small. But for the moment they remain assumptions and there is no certainty in anything.
Closing this parenthesis I would like to go back to my unfortunate story, which I call unfortunate because I had signed up only two weeks before, that if I had never done it, following the good basic rules that keep one's funds safe, nothing would have happened of all this, however we need the Exchange if we want to be able to perform certain operations and fault or no fault, it remains a big bad luck.
I am an incurable dreamer, fantastic in a possible GOX case also for FTX, maybe in 7/8 years of proceedings, my Tokens will be returned to me, which having been protected were very few such as Crypto, 100 FTT, 1300 DOGE and 1140 USD, most of which are dollars, will not change in value over the years, but to think that in many years 1300 DOGE can be returned to me that maybe the good old Elon Musk brought to the Moon for 10 Dollars each would be cool right?
But let's open the eyes, let's get back down to earth and face reality...
Io credo che sia proprio stato il caso GOX, a dare fiducia, che per chi non lo sapesse, è un Exchange Giapponese, fallito nel 2014, che dopo 8 anni di processo, quest'anno restituirà ai tutti i clienti i BITCOIN che avevano perso. Probabilmente questa vicenda ha portato un po' di speranza, con il fatto più concreto del recupero di oltre 3,5 miliardi di valori immobili e non da parte delle Autorità delle Bahamas e i 5 miliardi di Dollari recuperati in contanti e Cryptovalute dichiarato non molti giorni fa dall'avvocato di FTX Adam Landis. Parliamo di cifre enormi, per un totale di 8,5 milioni recuperati, ma siamo ancora distanti dalla cifra totale dei creditori di FTX che è stimata ad oltre 30 miliardi. Ma tutto questo ha sicuramente dato una bella iniezione di fiducia ai clienti che hanno perso i loro soldi e anche a tutto il mercato generale.
Diciamo che ora, con società e regolamentazioni, le Cryptovalute sono meno Far West confronto ad alcuni anni fa, sicuramente questo implica che non vedremo più i numeri passati del mercato con tutte le regolamentazioni moderne, perchè sicuramente limitano molti grossi investitori e li possono far desistere, ma sicuramente è più sicuro, almeno un po' per chi crede nel settore e vuole anche nel suo piccolo investire. Ma per il momento rimangono supposizioni e non vi è alcuna certezza in nulla.
Chiusa questa parentesi vorrei tornare alla mia sfortunata storia, che io chiamo sfortunata perchè mi ero iscritto solo due settimane prima, che se non lo avessi mai fatto, seguendo le buone regole di base che fanno preservare i propri fondi al sicuro, non sarebbe successo nulla di tutto ciò, tuttavia si ha bisogno degli Exchange se si vuole poter eseguire certe operazioni e colpa o non colpa, rimane una grande sfiga.
Io che sono un inguaribile sognatore, fantastico in un possibile caso GOX anche per FTX, magari tra 7/8 anni di processi, mi verranno restituiti i miei Token, che avendo messo in protezione erano ben pochi come Crypto, 100 FTT, 1300 DOGE e 1140 USD, la maggior parte essendo dollari non varieranno di valore negli anni, ma pensare che tra molti anni mi possano venire restituiti 1300 DOGE che magari il buon vecchio Elon Musk ha portato sulla Luna a 10 Dollari l'uno sarebbe figo no?
Ma apriamo gli occhi, torniamo con i piedi per terra e guardiamo in faccia alla realtà...

That wallet still hasn't disappeared today, it remains there in sight as a mockery, with those Tokens and USD that perhaps, indeed, most likely I will never see again, there to REMIND ME THAT WHAT I THOUGHT I HAD, IN REALITY WERE JUST WRITTEN NUMBERS ON ONE SCREEN...
Alla fine dei giochi, l'ultimo giorno utile in cui ebbi accesso al mio conto di FTX, non vi era più la possibilità di effettuare alcuna operazione, si poteva solo vedere il proprio portafoglio di Crypto e Fiat. Quel wallet ancora oggi non è sparito, rimane li bello in vista come una beffa, con quei Token e USD che forse, anzi, molto probabilmente non vedrò mai più, li a RICORDARMI CHE QUELLO CHE PENSAVO DI POSSEDERE, IN REALTÁ ERANO SOLO NUMERI SCRITTI IN UNO SCHERMO...
