Yes, but those are very small merchants which accept Steem, and most are only local. Steem does not appear to be accepted by any large retailers, and by none from North America or Europe/Asia where the vast majority of online transactions are processed.
As for the number of transactions, that is not really a relevant number. Total Steem volume for the last 24hrs was a mere $1,945,571 USD (less than 2 million dollars) compared to Bitcoin's $25,197,952,407 USD (over 25 billion dollars) for the same time period. That means, in dollar terms, Bitcoin's daily volume was almost 13,000 times greater than Steem's. So you see, the number of transactions really means nothing. Dollar volume is really all that counts. Everything else is pretty much irrelevant!
