We were three birds
Begging for bread
But the car took one
And we flew
Albeit, with broken wings

We perched on trees with leaves
But shooed, because our songs caused them pains
So we found flowers
But the eagle took one
There was no shade, we couldn't hide

Then I crawled
My wings are weak and couldn't fly
I waited for the cars
I anticipated the eagles
But the air was stiff with dust
So I took in each breathe with a pain

I wanted to be home
But home wasn't a place I lay my head
Home is where my tears dry up
A place I carry my hunger about with swollen eyes
Heavy with hope and rejection

I am a roaming bird
Staying alive for death
Cause there's no better fate
Than giving the mind excessive dosage of pain
To get it prepared, before the night comes
