It was recently announced that Season 3 of Snowpiercer has earned its release date 01/24/2022 and TNT has renewed it for Season 4 as well.
Synopsis: Seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, the remnants of humanity inhabit a perpetually-moving train that circles the globe, where class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival play out.
I'm looking forward to the continuation of this series, because in it, humanity is placed in an extreme situation. A tiny space for hundreds of people, with little resources for everyone, and with a creation of social classes. I would say that it is at least interesting to observe how the creator's idea was to represent this situation.
Both the series and the film were adapted from a comic called Le Transperceneige, HQ made by Jacques Lob, Benjamin Legrand and Jean-Marc Rochette. The film ended up making a bad adaptation, perhaps due to lack of time to tell a narrative. But the series makes a great character construction, also to reflecting on the way a society was built in the face of a terrible condition of life.
The series also brings a good atmosphere of drama and mystery, as if the first season was a series of police investigations. And when it started to get boring, interest rose again for plot twists.
The good points of this series are: the well-constructed script and the main characters that caught my attention. But, the downsides are some pretty unnecessary conversations that happen sometimes. And the lack of action, which does occur, but let's say it takes a long time to happen.
I recommend watching Snowpiercer, an excellent adaptation of Graeme Manson and Josh Friedman with my 8.5/10 rating and the IMDb rating of 6.9/10.
