I randomly had this thought today. I was buying my food, with a credit card which gives me cash back, but I suddenly imagined paying for my meal with an ounce of silver.
I sometimes measure things using other things. For example, measured the value of silver based on how many meals it can get me.
So, having 1,000 ounces of silver stacked up ensures me that I have hundreds if not thousands of days worth of food backed up into my silver coins.
When I look at this from this perspective I have better peace of mind. Having like 120 ounces of gold makes me sure that I have enough to live off for a few years.
Food, shelter, and goodies, covered for years and Ouff what a load off your shoulders.
