It's really weird to anyone who has never played, because there are so many rules and quirks. However, it's a bit more tactical than baseball and more variety in the action (in my opinion anyway!)

I find it funny how USA has developed its own sports almost in isolation (eg. American football in place of rugby or 'soccer', baseball in place of cricket, basketball it just came up with all by itself!) Something about American exceptionalism maybe!
