As you see on the picture, it is a ship. Tremendously a big ship that actually shouldn't be at a habitant place where it is now in Punge Blang Cut, Kec Bandar Baru, Banda Aceh.

The huge ship was previously located at Ulee Lheue beach, Banda Aceh. It's a generator powered by diesel as an electricity resource for Aceh.

However, due to the great disaster called tsunami, which was happened in 2004, the ship moved about 5 km far from the seashore and then stranded to residents' houses. However, nobody knows the exact story, the detail of its occurence.

Currently, by the Aceh government, the ship that weighs about 2.600 tons with 63 meter long and 1.600 m2 wide now becomes a tourism place. The visitor will find much information about the ship as well as about tsunami here.

According to the guard, it becomes a place to educate people about tsunami. People need to know things that should be done or not when the tsunami happens.

This is another evidence that prove how great tsunami destroyed Aceh land 13 years ago. Eventhough the great disaster had passed for years, the Acehnesse will never forget the day.

Once a year, every 26 of December, people in Aceh will hold a memorial event such as praying together to recall the memory of that day and sending dua for those who become victims at the disaster.

These are some photos of the ship and area around it.
