I think things will really open up when they make it possible to forge higher shine cards. Since shine is going to impact your daily play to earn so much. But you are correct in saying 2022 is a giant step in the right direction for the game. Mobile is what I think will blow the roof of the game. When that goes live the influx of new players should be massive. Also $GODS staking will make a nice extra stream of income for people. F2P is possible your journey may just be longer then others. But if you reach the results you want then it is worth it. We are still really early so no where for us all to go but way up.
