My name is Spyros Polkas (photo is coming when I fix my overheated laptop). I live in Athens, Greece and this is my first post on Steemit, as well as a brief description why I want to use it.
The flow of information is very important in controlling the flow of cash. An unknown product cannot sell unless it gets adequately advertised. And the same occurs to any good or bad idea, to any truth or lie.
Moreover, in a society that is so arduously taught that information from 'legitimate sources' is more valid than personal observation and indepent thought it is important to break the attempted oligopoly of few and create networks wherein we can freely communicate. Of course those who wish to monopolize the flow information will try to at least influence free networks too. But even this way we have a chance, and if we remain quiet we don't.
I respect other's anonymity but I choose to not be anonymous for the sake of being honest. Even if some choose to be anonymous in order to dodge disrespectful prying eyes obsessed with other's 'sins', I believe it works against us in the long run if we are afraid and if we hide. After all to go hide is what they want, plus it isn't those who just want to live and let live (or even assist others to live) that should have something to hide.
I don't have very fixed political and religious ideas. I definitely lean more towards self-determination and voluntary co-operation. And from that point on I support more what serves that more and less what serves that less. From my perspective it is some nasty propaganda that freedom results in brutality and limitations in love and light. Definitely, the forcing opposing mentalities upon people and then forcing them to co-exist results in chaos. But that is not how things basically are.
I recognise those involved with cryptocurrencies are often of similar mentality as mine, which makes for a nice atmosphere. And I'm looking forward to some fun.
