So today I had the privilege off going back to work with a long time friend and local contractor. So many people ask why I do construction work when I have two bachelor's an associate and certificate degrees from various universitys I've attended. The truth is I dropped out of my masters program with one year left. Why? Some times you reach that point where you ask your self that very question. The answer for me was answering the question of, are you sure you want to be cooped up in some office every day listening to everybody cry about their problems of why their relationship isn't going anywhere... Like it's an object.. Relationships are not nouns. The answer to the question was no. So I woke up the next day and went back to framing houses. And like today, my office looked like this.
And today when I laid back on the deck just built I got to look at this.
It beats the hell out of being stuck in some 60 degree office or stuck in a sleepy 50 degree classroom trying to teach a bunch of kids that don't care about nothing unless it's posted on facebook.
Today was an awesome day. The gratification of seeing the fruits of your labor, the smile on the waitress face when she says he weto cause she hadn't seen you in two months, the goats and the dogs jumping on you to lick your face and welcome you to their turf.. Yeah I'll take working outside any day of the week...
