So this evening I walked down to the bayfront to catch a breathe of air and see if the world was still in order.
The sun is setting and there was music and the laughter of children in the air. Yep, not much going on in South Texas, a typical Saturday evening.
One might consider it a perfect end to a perfect day. But then again, maybe not so perfect. As I started my trek back home I noticed several police cars and noted too 3 or 4 cops basically harassing the homeless that had came down to the bay to shower and watch the world as I was.
I chuckled to myself saying "yeah there's sure a lot of crime going on down here, somebody might get hurt". That's when I noticed a flash coming from atop one of the squad cars. What, I backed up, turned around to get a picture.
Yep, you can plainly see mounted on the hood of the car digital cameras that must have some kind of radar so as you walk by they take a snapshot of you. Come on, seriously, you're going to tell me that it's not a violation of a reasonable expectation of privacy? WTF is this about? We are now randomly taking snapshots of people walking down a sidewalk and feeding that into the matrix of our own destruction all in the name of safety? Security? Freedom? Really? Isn't this a bit much or am I just being a whacked out conspiracy theorist nut job? What's your thoughts?
