That's sugar. She is no longer with us but I felt compelled to do a post about her after seeing
@liquifire display of his girl Sunshine.
Sugar was always there to great me after a long days work chattering her affection for her well trained owner. Sugar was the queen, the dominant female that all the other cats looked up to. Sugar was sweet and combined with her golden highlights there was no doubt her namesake.
But sugar wasn't my first love when it came to cats. The cat that first took my heart was the girl I called squirrel.
I picked up squirrel one day when walking through crackville down in the bario. She was munching on some throw out macaroni and cheese with her tiny rib cage exposed I snatched her up so quick she had no chance to get away. She violently bit down on my thumb drawing blood and I just let her bite down as hard as she could as I tucked her inside my jacket.
As Squirrel grew I realized she wasn't like other cats but more like a dog as she would bring her kills to my feet, drop them and then sit there looking at me funny like a dog. I figured if she was going to act like a dog I'd train her as a dog and to my surprise she took to it well. Squirrel would fetch sticks, sit, roll over, and play dead. Her namesake came from her sitting up on her hind legs all the time to eat her food like a squirrel.
In closing, I'd like to pose the questions: Isn't it amazing how cats can read your mind and sense your thoughts. Isn't it amazing how they provide such love at just the right time. Aren't cats his amazing little creatures despite their natural born killers instincts.
Hope you enjoyed.
