Every morning I get up and fall out of bed in half dead groundhog sort of way. Some days I know where I'm going, somedays I have no clue. Either way when I arrive at my destination I am left with these.
As long as I have my bags, I always have...
I like making money. Money, money, money. Pay day is tomorrow and I'll have even more money.
The other day I was talking to this guy I assumed was homeless and he was asking me about work. I told him there was plenty of it seeing as how this part of the world just got hit by Hurricane Harvey a few months back. I told him too the easiest way to get a job here was to take the bus out to Flour Bluff and take your tool bags and through them over your shoulder and start walking the 6 miles across the causeway to the island. He looked at me as if I were nuts.
I've done just that very thing several times in my life. Each time I have gotten hired. It's inevitable. If you "want" work then "go" to where the work is. Walk if you have to. Six miles is nothing to walk. And what a blessing to just be able to do so. Sure I could say it's too far and sit on my excuses all day and do nothing all day but cry about how I can't find work.. Bullshit. I like making money. Money is good. I'll sling my saw and my drill drivers on my hammer handle and put it over my shoulder and sling my cord over the other and start walking.
I just don't get how someone here in South Texas can say they can't find work. It's everywhere. If you can't find work here you simply don't want to and that is that.
The other good side of doing what I do, I get to work in places like this.
That is what I had to look at while having lunch today at Key Allegro in Rockport TX. If you'll take a closer look at those images you'll be able to see the many of those homes are in desperate need of repair from damage received during the hurricane. That means work... And more money, more money, more money. Did I mention I like making money. Hint, hint.. Voting here on Steemit makes money too you know.
