The accuracy of data within the SportsPodium ecosystem is a key driver to the success of the project. Like any technology, set wearables are gaining more and more attention and as more manufacturers compete for a market share, these devices are becoming more affordable on a daily basis.

How is wearables currently used?

The wearable market stretches far beyond Sports and Fitness.

An interesting application is the PlayGoal Device, which locks childrens devices like mobile phones and kindles, until the child has reached sufficient activity for a day.

The touchscreen band works by being paired with PlayGoal’s Android app. From the app, parents can set specific physical goals for their children. Once the goals are met, only then will their devices be unlocked.

Wearable devices will be one of the ways that SportsPodium will ensure data accuracy when building the largest sports database in the world.
