I'd actually consider him a bit of a superstar if he can turn that around. Just because he was a wonderful athlete doesn't mean he isn't going to be subjected to the dangers of drug access. On the flip side, his legacy can be completely destroyed if he goes in there and gets rekt by Hooker, who doesn't have these issues. But then again, he has enough money already to live multiple lifetimes already.
