Well folks it seems I pissed off a few people for doing volunteer charity work.
I am a disabled person running this account on a voluntary basis to raise money for charities that help fund research, outreach and education for people with chronic illnesses /disabilities.
I am not paid in any way to run this account. In fact, the opposite is the case as I have donated my own assets to get this up and running.
I have also created a community where I do MANUAL curation to posts made in this community to support people posting. Curation/upvotes are not guaranteed.
My comments are now getting downvoted and I genuinely do not know why. I can only assume that those downvoting dislike disabled people and charities. Since no one who downvoted offered any comment ,criticism or explanation.
Side note: These downvotes are coming from an automatic downvote trail, so it's likely most who downvoted don't have any reason why, they are just blindly downvoting.
I am human and maybe I made a mistake somewhere. I do struggle with cognitive/neurological damage and I assumed if I didd something "wrong" people would at least reach out, ask questions etc before launching an attack.
This is a brand new account and these downvotes are hurting not just earnings but reputation and for what? So someone on a power trip can essentially steal from charities...?
The first post that was downvoted was me offering support and validation to someone who is chronically ill.
If you disagree with my comments , have questions about what I am doing or whatever why not spark up a conversation instead of just downvoting and taking funds away from charities?
It wasn't just one comment that was downvoted it was several. This was an intentional attack on this account.
There is unfortunately not much I can do to fight this. This account is not even 3 weeks old FFS.
The contingency plan:
If this continues, I will have no choice but to stop posting, commenting, running giveaways etc. I will use this account solely for manual curation and that will be how this account earns funds to donate to charities.
I am not able bodied and doing simple tasks that healthy people can do no problem (like posts, comments etc) are very difficult for me. I simply do not have the energy to waste only to have one troll and a few people blindly following them ruin everything.
I will not let these trolls win and I will continue to raise funds for charities despite their actions.
If this continues I will simply switch to curation and not bother posting or commenting.No more giveaways etc. This means less funds will be raised for people in need but I will do what I have to do.
Final thought: If you are on a downvote trail and automatically downvoting people without even reading the posts/ comments, you may want to reconsider. Unless of course you like bullying people, especially disabled people. Then "do you" I suppose....
