This art is dedicated to Philippine Mythological Creatures. In our culture we believe that fantasy creature has symbolic meaning in our daily life. As an artist I took a special time to create a modern kind of myth.
This art is digitally drawn using ibisPaint X and I named it "BAKUMO" which stands for "bakunawa" and "santelmo". The two Philippine fantasy creatures are combined together to bring a new art!
The "bakunawa" is a superior dragon that ate anything that gives light. This is the reason why eclipses occur. The "santelmo" is a floating fire in the middle of the night that scares people.
I intentionally made this to emphasize significant meaning:
"BAKUMO"
BRAVENESS - It shows how strong and skillful the Filipinos are. They are great warriors and heroes to their homeland.
REFLECTION - The rich culture of the Filipinos are embracing the hot trend! It is saliently seen from now and then.
BALANCE - If "bakunawa" obtain the light then "santelmo" give back the lost matter. It is the expression of being equal to any aspects of life.
