Starlight cards arrive, plus Guided fixes

The Foundations Starlight cards are in Splinterlanes, figures and all. The Guided first battle deals better and explains the attack arrows, a second window no longer fights the first over your battle, and the Fair play rules now say plainly that playing more than one account is fine. Here is everything since the last update.

Foundations Starlight cards are playable

All 36 new Foundations Starlight cards play in Splinterlanes now. If you own them, they are in your Deck Builder, and each one has its own figure on the battlefield.

Two Abilities are new with the set:

  • Focus Guard: before the battle starts, the Monster directly behind this one gets +1 Ranged attack, if it has a ranged attack. The bonus stays even if the Focus Guard Monster falls. Ronrick Traceur and Fire Trinity carry it.
  • Repair Guard: before this Monster's turn, it repairs 2 Armor on the next living Monster behind it. Drowned Oracle and Tarmanter carry it.

Both work on the line inside a Lane, so where you place a Monster matters: put your ranged attacker straight after a Focus Guard, and an armored Monster straight after a Repair Guard.

The Guided first battle deals better

The Guided first battle gives you a starter Deck with three Archons of different elements, and each Lane only takes Monsters its Archon can field. Your Hand was a plain shuffle, though, so it could fill up with one element and leave two Lanes with nothing to place for many rounds.

Now the Guided battle deals your cards so every Lane keeps getting Monsters it can take. Every other match still uses a plain shuffle.

The coach also has a new card. A dashed arrow on the board is an attack route: where a Lane has nothing to fight, its Monsters strike the next Lane over, and the arrow shows the way they go. Amber arrows are your opponent's attacks and teal ones are yours. A player read an amber arrow as a hint about where to place, so the coach now explains it the first time one of your opponent's appears.

A second window no longer fights the first

If your battle was open in two windows on the same account, the two took your seat from each other every few seconds, and the battle stuttered in both. Now the newer window takes over and the older one goes back to the lobby with a message saying so. Join again there to move the battle back.

This usually happens when one browser has two tabs open and you sign in to a different account in one of them: the other tab doesn't follow the change.

Fair play: more than one account is fine

The Fair play section of the Terms is shorter and clearer:

  • More than one account is fine. A browser is signed in to one account at a time, so play another in a second browser or browser profile, or let VIP Auto-battle play it. Keep each account open in one window only.
  • Play your own battles. Don't let anyone else play on your account, and don't play on someone else's.
  • No outside automation. No scripts, macros or other programs that join queues or make moves for you. The game's own Auto-battle and VIP Auto-battle are always allowed.
  • Report bugs, don't use them. Found one? Tell us on Discord or in the blog comments.

Thanks to the player who asked about playing several accounts on Discord; the questions made the rules better.

Fixes

  • Deck Builder Talisman list: the list of your Talismans opened underneath the panels below it, so you could only see a few rows through the gaps. It now opens on top. Thanks for the report.
