Line Up
Here is the line-up I used in this battle challenge. In this battle, the ruleset is Taking Side wherein Neutral Monsters may not be used in battles. The mana cap is 22 only and this gives me limited monster units to be used in this battle. The only active elements to be used are Fire, Water, Life and Death.
I am currently practicing my cards in preparation for Modern Format and I want to practice using Lorna Shine. I am also thrilled because this is the first summoner that I bought last week for the Life element. Also, because of her Divine Shield buff, my monster card will last more rounds compared to using General Sloan. So my strategy here is to use Magic attack monsters to ignore enemy armor because as per the opponent's previous battles, there is a huge chance that my opponent will use cards with armor. |
|---|
Since the mana cap is only 22 and I can only play limited monsters, I tried to minimize the mana cost of my tank. And for that reason, I used Pelacor Conjurer because it only costs 2 mana and also has Flying ability to increase the chance of dodging the enemies physical attack. |
|---|
My monster in second position is also a magic attack monster, Djinn Renova. Aside from raising the HP of my monster unit, it also has a decent amount of HP to tank incoming damage. |
|---|
Our battle theme is positioned in Position 3. One of the good reason why I picked Time Mage is because of its Slow ability. I usually use Creeping Ooze to slow down the enemy monsters, however in Modern Format, Creeping Ooze is not included. And aside from Baakjira, there is no other monster unit with Slow ability at level 1. And we all know that having better speed is an advantage during battle. Your monster will attack first, heal first and has a higher chance to dodge enemy physical attacks. And take a look at the speed of Time Mage. It already has 4 Speed in Level 1 which is pretty good considering that it also has Slow ability. With that said, I think investing on Time Mage is a good choice. |
|---|
The reason I used this card together with other mage unit is because of its Tank Heal ability. I am assuming that most of the attacks will miss but to be sure, I prepared a unit that can heal if ever the attacks hit my monster unit. |
|---|
To add more firepower to my magic attack, I used Dax Paragon to complete my line up. It only costs 2 mana and fitting for my strategy. |
|---|
Did your strategy work?
What will you try differently next time?
