SPLINTERLANDS ART CONTEST!

brawl.png

Good day, everyone! I'd like to present my fan art of Ice Pixie from Water Element in today's post. My previous fan art concentrated on the color red, and for this post, I attempted to create a fan art that focused on the color blue. I'm still learning, but I'd like to upload this to keep track of my progress. Any and all comments is much welcomed. 😀

Here is the image of the original card. It kind of battling something and even has a fire-like thing on its left hand so I kind of mimic this stance for my work.

Brief Description of the Process

sketch1679659973404.png

I used Autodesk Sketchbook on my tablet to create this fan art. I started with an outline of a small body similar to a fairy. Since most of the colors are blue and white, I initially used grey color as my background for me to clearly see my work. I used pale blue on the skin and white color on the hair. At the start of the process, I already created a snow flake shape that will be used as my reference for the light source. I then began shading the face and hair with black and blue color respectively using Flow Airbrush. For the different parts of the face and hair, I used different level of opacity while shading. I added a little glow of light with respect to the light source using Soft Glow Blending and lowered the opacity.

I then began shading the clothes and belt. The yellow and purple colors are somehow the alien in this shades of color. I then began drawing the eyes that glows using 2 layers of Soft Glow, and a little dot on the nose and broken line for the lips. I am still learning how to correctly draw the nose and lips so please bear with me. 😄

On the next part, I started shading the wings and applied a glowing white color coming from the snow flakes. At this point, I changed the color of the back ground to dark blue because I really would like to focus on the shades of blue in this fan art.

For the background, I added big shadows of snow flakes because the body of this Ice Pixie is really small. I then added ice shapes objects and glowing circles at the back ground. And lastly, some speckles of white with lower opacity on the back ground for the drops of snow. For the finished product, I tried hiding the line art, but it kind of messed my work. Lowering the opacity also messes the whole outcome, so I guessed I also need to work on my line art as well.

Any constructive criticism is much appreciated. 🙏
