💥 🔥 Battle Mage Secrets - Back to Basics Ruleset! 🔥 💥

Hello, everyone! It's time for another Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge from Splinterlands. In this post, we will discuss the 'Back to Basics' ruleset, where all units lose their abilities. For this battle challenge, I will share a Bronze League Modern Format battle. Let's take a closer look at the card I used to win in this ruleset and how it contributed to my team's victory.

Battle Configuration

For this battle, there is a specific ruleset and a mana cap to consider:

Active Elements: Earth, Death and Dragon

My Lineup:

Summoner: Thaddius Brood

• It provides -1 Health and Magic Attack de-buff to all enemy monsters.

First Position: Cursed Windeku

• I chose this in the first position for its thick HP. Since it will not have any ability in this battle, it will rely on its Speed and Melee Attack power.

Second Position: Magi Necrosi

• I chose this in the second position for its 2 Magic Attack output, and 4 Speed. In this game, Speed will play a vital role to win.

Third Position: Insidious Warlock

• I chose this in the third position for its Magic damage. This card has a good amount of damage for its mana cost.

Fourth Position: Magi of Chaos

• I chose this in the fourth position for its 2 Magic Attack output also.

Fifth and Sixth Position: Soul Strangler / Dhampir Stalker

• I added Ranged Attacks in the fifth and sixth position because among my monsters that can attack from afar, these 2 have the best damage output.

Strategy: I chose this lineup for the ruleset because I anticipated that the opponent would rely on magic attacks boosted by the summoner Obsidian. Since all abilities are nullified, it is advantageous for all monsters to be capable of attacking from any position. I used this strategy against the opponent and countered the +1 Magic Attack buff with Thaddius Brood's -1 Magic Attack debuff. Consequently, enemy monsters reverted to the basics, even with a summoner. I then used monsters with at least 2 Magic or Range Attacks to overpower the opponent's monsters.

Let's Rumble

As you can see, the opponent used a lineup consisting entirely of magic attack monsters. Consequently, by the end of Round 1, the enemy's Mycelic Slipspawn was already defeated, while I still had my Cursed Windeku.

By the end of Round 2, almost all enemy monsters were annihilated and only Spirit Hoarder remained.

And by the end of Round 3, it was an easy kill and that makes me the winner of this battle.

From time to time, it truly matters to review the opponent's previous matches and engage in mind games, especially in this kind of ruleset. Considering how the enemy will react plays a significant role in securing victory in any battle.
