After the ice melts this pair kept apart from the pack of conventional , familiar to us mallards. Moreover, when approaching other ducks shelducks showed clear aggression, fending off "outsiders" from the site. The "orange" first came to feeding, when somebody started to crumble bread into the water. And while they were eating, the rest of the ducks were hesitant to approach.
When females Mallard disappeared from the pond, sitting on the nests, disappeared and female Ogar. They obviously built somewhere near the pond nest, and the mother-ruddy Shelduck broods the Chicks now. Really want to see them when she leads them to the pond. And dad is a ruddy Shelduck yet spends time alone across the surface of the pond and inogda arranging thrashing drakes, incautiously approached him...
If I'm lucky, I will try to catch the shot mom-Ogar with offspring. Very interesting to look at the ducks of this breed of ducks...
