Let’s be honest...
A good thumbnail is the difference between someone clicking your video, and completely skipping it.
So what are some good practices when it comes to creating thumbnails? Read on to find out...
1. Take A Picture
Often times picking a snapshot from our videos isn’t the best way to get a thumbnail. First, it doesn’t really allow us to customize it. Second, it can often be blurry from motion.
When filming, think about the most interesting part of your video, and then pose for a picture during that scene!
2. Edit Appropriately, Yet Lightly
Don’t go too crazy on editing pictures, but do make sure they are optimized for maximum viewing pleasure.
A good app to download for simple editing is Adobe Lightroom CC. You can find it on the Google Play and Apple App store.
3. If You Add Text, Stylize It!
Text is a great way to make your thumbnail stand out. However, just throwing text on a picture isn’t always the best idea.
Use an app like Adobe Spark Post to stylize your text. It can even intelligently pick colors to match your picture.
That’s It!
Just a couple quick tips to help improve your thumbnails for your videos. If you found this helpful, be sure to support it and share it with orhers!
I believe that everything I desire to accomplish, will in fact be accomplished.
