Something needs to have some good in it to attract people to it. It is also important to have something bad or portrayed as bad so that the good can counter it. The twist is the application of what should be good intentions. For example, hate speech is bad; therefore it should be banned. However, what is hate speech? The definition becomes expanded to include criticism and opposing opinions. Some hate speech is prevented but mostly constructive free speech is blocked.
