Halo - Infection Zombies!
Infection has got to be one of my favorite Halo 3 game modes. I've been enjoying it quite a lot in Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Steam. (Been playing it a lot recently in anticipation of Halo Infinite's imminent release!
Infection is a free-for-all, zombie vs human playlist.
So there are various infection game types that will come up randomly in this playlist! Here is a list of them and a brief description.
(1) Save One Bullet - In this mode, the Zombies will have full health + shield, and the human players have NO shields. In this mode, it's actually easier to start out as a zombie and infect the humans, rather than the other way around.
(2) Braaaaaains - In this mode, Zombies move extra fast and are a one hit kill, and humans have a penalty with a very zoomed in radar. This means, that although the Zombies are easy to kill, they have the element of surprise if they can sneak up on a human.
(3) Creeping Death - In this mode all Zombies, are completely invisible. Humans have a very zoomed out radar, which is a disadvantage in not being able to properly gauge the distance of the enemy players. You will find that the humans stick together and try to fight off the invisible zombies in this mode.
(4) Speed Demons - Zombies move INCREDIBLY fast but are also just a one-hit kill, and have the choice of Gravity Hammer or Sword. The speed of the Zombies allows them to move incredibly quickly and pull off some crazy jumps.
Well, now that you have a general idea of each of the 4 game variants, it's time to get to killing some zombies! The way you win in any mode, is not by being the last one standing, but by getting the most kills!
The obvious strategy, is that when you want to kill a zombie far away, is to utilize the Magnum (with the scope) and the Grenades. And for close quarters, you'll want to whip out the Shotgun.
You will want to adjust your playstyle accordingly, to each different mode as well.
Speed Demons, enables you to kind of wander off on your own, and rack up the kills! With Save One Bullet, however, you MUST take precaution in how you move around the map. Try to move with a fellow Human. Here is an awesome position I love to be in on the map Valhalla, that allows me to rake up a bunch of kills on the zombies as they respawn!
The great thing about Infection, is that there are many awesome maps for you to play on, and combined with the fact that it's a 12-player free for all, it's always a fun time! (Well, except if you are forced to be a zombie for 3 out of 3 rounds in a row on Braaaains...)
A while ago, I actually made a small zombies montage, featuring some cool multi-kills and Killionaires (the highest multi-kill medal you can get in Halo!) which you can view here:

I will probably be making more posts about Halo, as I continue to brush up on my Halo skills in preparation for Halo Infinite!
