Look at the aggressive normalization of massive, face-obscuring sunglasses and hyper-exaggerated makeup contours that mask actual bone structure. We call it high fashion or influencer culture, but it effectively creates a society where looking "alien" is the baseline.
If everyone looks slightly artificial, the truly artificial beings blend right in. They don't have to hide in the shadows if we willingly transform ourselves into their decoys.
