The east and west coasts of the United States are drastically different, especially in the Pacific Northwest. The coast in Oregon is extremely windswept and jagged, which really conveys the power of the ocean. While swimming on the coast is quite cold and fairly dangerous the coast makes up for its lack of recreational activities with its beauty and uniqueness.
It's extremely rare to see such a clear day on the coast but when you do the shades of blue are spectacular.
I strongly recommend everyone to visit the coast in the Pacific Northwest if they have the opportunity.
