Hello My name is Humberto Ortega, I am from Caracas, Venezuela. I started since I was about 16 years old, learning with my dad's acoustic guitar that I got upstairs in the closet, full of dust and with a couple of strings. Right in high school I met a friend who played the guitar and that's where my head went "guao". There I started to learn by asking, watching, with friends, etc.
At that time after learning the basics so to speak, I remember going through some guitar lessons too, I got to read tablatures, etc. I had already bought an electric guitar, I remember that I used to buy guitar magazines with CDs and exercises to practice.
During those years, I met some friends who already had a band formed with their own songs, I entered as second guitar and we rehearsed at their house, we played at birthdays, 15 years, at a friend's house, at a graduation party and even at a nightclub in San Antonio de los Altos.
I also bought an electric bass because another friend who had a cover band was missing a bass player, soon the previous band dissolved, I sold the guitar and I stayed playing covers with the bass. The years went by and from time to time we rehearsed and/or went out to some event, the truth is that it was more of a hobby than anything else, living from music has always been an uphill struggle.
