A butterfly can taste with its legs.
Insects have many features someone might not think off. Butterflys in this case are able to taste with their legs. They have receptors on their legs to check out flowers.
Mostly they are consuming nectar and the ability to tast with the legs come in handy.
Butterflys evolve out of caterpillars and made a strange transformation already. How can something as ugly as a caterpillar turn into a butterfly?
Well, how pretty a butterfly is is determined by us humans, but nature did not think about it. It happened to be whats best for evolution.
The colors of the butterflys are normally meant for camouflage - how can this be when they have such bright colors and are easy to spot? Well they need the right background for example.
There are butterflys with red wings and also green wings. In this case of the picture shown below the color of the wings is yellow, so it indicated that the butterfly mostly sits on yellow flowers.
