After leaving their nest - swallows stay their whole life in air. They collect insects while flight.
Im not sure how widespread they are in certain areas of this world, but mostly you can find them out in the nature near farms. They are not likely to be expected in cities.
With cities are expanding a lot of animals are chased out of their usual habitat. It is not about the swallows but a lot other animals aswell.
But thats interesting, they can fly almost their whole lifetime. Imagine how much energy they need to stay active for the whole time.
Do you know that the birds today are closely relatives to dinosaurs? The chicken is apparently the most living relative animal to a t-rex. If you know it they look quite similar despite of the size of course.
They lay eggs - their bodyshape looks almost the same - funny huh?
