Early Sunday morning and the weather was looking good I travelled with my husband to a little town/village called ILUKA. It is a small village really with only a few little shops but we had plans for a certain discovery called Middle Bluff.

We parked into he car park and head down at track that lead to a beach in which we had to walk along. As our destination to be explored was Middle Bluff headland. It is set in the middle of Iluka Bluff beach and Woody Head, set on the east coastline of Australia.

As we tracked up the beach what to be seen was quite unique. As we approached a flat rock headland. The swell was high and low with calm spells and then Whamo..... out of no where the waves would come with loud crashes smashing and splashing on the rocks surface.

I found a little spot under some trees to set up the picnic where I could relax. Hubby hooked up his rigs and began fishing, I decided it was not a spot for me and wished I had bought a book that I could read.

I set up the blanket onto the ground and decorated it with food and sat down to relax. As I sat and gazed at the surrounding around me. I found a scene of tranquillity. To my left was the beach scene through beautiful palm trees and to my right was a rocky surface with little water pond beneath.

Hubby could not wait to begin to start this fishing expedition. He baited his hook with pillis on a shank hook and cast out of the edge into the deep blue sea. It was not long until he had a bite and began to fight that fish with all of his might. It must have been big with the force he used and the rod bent almost in two. It was not long until the weight was gone as the fish spat the hook and then it was gone. It tried again and again and nothing could be caught it was too rocky here and the fish go under the rocks. I need to try somewhere new this place is too rocky for me and for you.

Ahhh excuses, excuses I proclaimed but the most thing about this place that worries me.....is if you get swept away. The swell on the sea is way to strong and if those waves sweep you away. This is my excuse to call it a day. Come and relax in the shade and have a good feed and then we can discover a new place with calmer seas.

We found a quiter spot along the Iluka wall in where Hubby cast out his rod and had no bites at all. While he was busy trying to catch a fish. I kept myself busy making friends with the pelicans feeding them his bait.
