When I was a little girl my mom taught me to crochet some basic stitches and others with two needles, but it wasn't until the pandemic that I found myself with nothing to do and decided to reconcile with knitting. Some projects were not at all memorable, but there were others that I enjoyed both the process and the result, as was the case of this jacket.

Algunos proyectos no fueron para nada memorables, pero hubo otros que me dieron gusto tanto el proceso como el resultado, cómo fue el caso de está chaqueta
To make this jacket in approximately size L, I used:
450 grams of yarn
4mm needles
Scissors
Para hacer esta chaqueta en una talla L aproximadamente, yo utilicé:
450 gramos de hilo
Agujas de 4mm
Tijeras
I'm going to explain with a sample fabric.
My jacket is about 100 cm wide and about 90 cm long.
If you want to adapt it to your size you can measure the width and length you want and start with the number of stitches that you consider will occupy that size, but it must always be an odd number of stitches.

Mi chaqueta mide unos 100 cm de ancho aprox y unos 90 cm de largo.

The first thing we will do is knit 10 rows, knitting half a stitch in each chain. From the second row on, you will have to take the back of the stitch.
Lo primero que haremos será tejer 10 vueltas haciendo medio punto en cada cadeneta. A partir de la segunda vuelta, deberás tomar la parte de atrás del punto.
Don't be afraid if you feel that the fabric is loose, that's the idea of this jacket, that some holes are signed.
No tengas miedo si sientes que el tejido está flojo, esa es la idea de está chaqueta, que se firmen algunos agujeros.
From the 11th row we will begin to make another design, for this we will begin each row with 2 chains and in the third chain we will knit a half stitch, a chain and another half stitch in the same stitch, then we will skip the next stitch and repeat the knitting of half stitch a chain half stitch. A partir de la vuelta 11 comenzaremos a realizar otro diseño, para esto comenzaremos cada vuelta con 2 cadenas y en la tercera cadena hacemos medio punto, una cadena y otro medio punto en el mismo punto, luego saltaremos el siguiente punto y repetiremos el tejido de medio punto una cadena medio punto. Repetiremos esto hasta el final de la vuelta donde el último punto solo tejeremos un medio punto.
En la siguiente vuelta tejeremos la secuencia de medio punto cadena medio punto en el agujero que se formó de la cadena intermedia de la vuelta anterior. Y así haremos durante todas las vueltas siguientes.
Do not be afraid in this part that it seems that the fabric increases in size, it is the shape it takes because of the design we are making.
No tengas miedo en esta parte que pareciera que el tejido aumento de tamaño, es la forma que toma por el diseño que estamos realizando.
When you have the desired length we will finish the jacket by repeating the first design, for this we will knit a half stitch in each half stitch of the previous row.
You must be careful not to knit the chain stitch spaces because it will form more stitches and deform your knitting.
As at the beginning of the project, you should have 10 rows, always taking the yarn from the back.
In this part you should have the same amount of stitches as at the beginning.
Cuando tengas el largo deseado terminaremos la chaqueta repitiendo el primer diseño, para esto tejeremos un medio punto en cada medio punto de la vuelta anterior.
Debes tener cuidado de no tejer los espacios de las cadenetas porque se formarán más puntos y se deformara tu tejido.
Tal como al inicio del proyecto, deberás tener 10 vueltas, siempre tomando el hilo de atras.
En esta parte debes tener la misma cantidad de puntos que al inicio.
Once we finish knitting you will have a large rectangle, similar to the one in my sample, but appropriate to your size. We will fold in half joining the first 10 loops with the last 10 loops and then sew.
Una vez que terminamos de tejer tendrás un gran rectángulo, similar al de mi muestra pero adecuado a tu talla. Doblaremos a la mitad uniendo las primeras 10 vueltas con las últimas para luego coser.
The photo above is of my finished jacket. After I folded it in half I sewed the sides, taking care not to sew the whole side, but leaving a small space that will be used to insert the arms.
La foto anterior es de mi chaqueta terminada. Luego que la doble a la mitad cosi por los laterales, cuidando de no coser todo el lateral, sino dejando.un pequeño espacio que servirá para introudcir los brazos.
Important: The idea of using a sample and not the project as such is due to the fact that I made my jacket in a very dark tone and it would not show very well in the photos, besides, being such a big jacket, the idea of the explanation could be lost.
Importante: La idea de usar una muestra y no el proyecto como tal se debe a qué yo hice mi chaqueta en un tono muy oscuro y no se iba a apreciar muy bien en las fotos, además, al ser una chaqueta tan grande se podía perder la idea de la explicación
