It was finished in 1953 :-) Rotterdam was bombed during WWII which means a lot of 'quick and efficient' buildings arose during the 50s, since there was a severe lack of office and living spaces in the city that burned down so much. I love that this building has a real 'old' feel to it, but also timeless. A lot of the buildings that were build in the 50s I don't find attractive, as they were clearly meant to be practical, and not pretty :-) Some of those buildings are being torn down again in the last decade or so, to replace them again, now with something we find pretty in these days :D
