I wasn't there to take pictures. I was staring at my phone, just finishing my strength training in the middle of the city. What time would the tram come? And then it arrived. I stood up from the chairs, a woman two seats left of me stood up too. I noticed the colours and design patterns in her clothes, then the fur of the dog, and then the reflections of the sun in the windows of the tram creating subtle but noticeable patterns of light and shadow on the ground.
It's one of those grab your cam moments.
Without those patterns on the ground and the sun on the fur and the patterns in the clothing it wouldn't have been a special moment or a special shot.
Now it is one I like.
It all happened in a fraction of a second and I wonder what I could've done with some time to actually compose, maybe more of the woman's skirt, bot feet from the lady next to her - but I have no regrets. I wasn't there as a photographer, but I left the scene with a photograph.
