For some weird reason, I am still awake after midnight and I don't know why. I guess it's this new habit I recently adopted of staying up late past midnight. It goes way back to my teenage years when I would stay up late at night to play video games. Then over time I continued without any form of hesitation.
Today I was up at night, feeling idle about what to do. Not sure what to do, I simply scrolled through my phone and I decided to play poker. A couple of months back, I got into playing poker. First, I learned how to play the game, to sharpen any knowledge about the game that I might have had in the past about the game. It wasn't much anyway. I even read Poker for Dummies. It is funny how I actually enjoyed the book. I got some interesting insights to help my poker hand.
The game I played is Zynga Poker. The game app is quite interesting but recently they have been giving some random unwanted ads. You could be set to play a game and all of a sudden an ad pops up.
The round table was just a casual round table with a buy-in of $1B and $25m in stakes, for the chips. It wasn't as hard as the multi-tournament I played last month where I was wiped silly. I went in all heavy with a flush on my hand but sadly another player had a strong flush with kings and queens.
From the image, you can see I went all in. That is because I had a strong card a King and Ace, the two strongest cards you could ask for in a game of poker. Although don't get carried away, if you don't get a good pair or combo with the remaining 5 cards dealt on the board, you will lose to the stronger hand.
In other rounds, I won some and I was smart enough to know when to push my hand or better still stale my hand. Knowing when to bluff, calling out a bluff is as important as knowing when to fold. My style is that I don't have a small edge, I will watch through the stakes coming into the pot.
I won a couple of rounds more but I ran away quickly. You need to know when to leave the stage as quickly as possible for you lose it all. Nah, just joking. I will still play some more since it's all artificial chips.
It was poker this midnight. Wonder what I will check out at midnight another day.
