Hello, for this week's social media challenge I will be talking about the Spirit Hoarder card which is a mysterious creature roaming the lands of Praetoria. You rarely see it in battle but this card has great abilities and a low mana cost so I think giving it a chance is a good choice.

This post is about Splinterlands and if you don't know the game you can access the site through the link below and also find out more about it by looking for the tag #splinterlands.

Access the game: Splinterlands

The Spirit Hoarder card from the neutral deck belongs to the chaos legion edition which is the most recent edition released by the game, you can buy the card through the marketplace or trying your luck by buying chaos legion packs that cost $4 each. But this value is only if you are going to buy with credits, you can get it cheaper by buying from Hive Engine or buying with DEC in Shop.

To talk about Spirit Hoarder, let's take a look at his statistics that you can find by clicking on the card in the (Cards) or (Marketplace) part and going to (Stats).

Its mana cost is 3 and it is a neutral deck card, so it can be used with cards from other decks and this is another great advantage of having this amazing card in your collection. On the other hand, its attack, speed and health are not high and this is the biggest disadvantage that this card has, but with the right positioning and a summoner or monster that grants shield will be of great help to make it less vulnerable in battles. The description about its abilities will be written below.

Enable Triage (Level 1)

The Triage ability heals the backline card that took the most damage in battle. As a healing ability it is a great choice and prevents your monsters from being defeated too easily as they receive healing every round while Spirit Hoarder is on the battlefield.

Enable Dispel (Level 2)

The Dispel ability makes the card that has it clear all positive status effects from the card it attacks. I'm not particularly a fan of this ability but in the right battle it can be very useful, remembering that the effect doesn't work with summoner buffs.

Enable Blind (Level 3)

The Blind ability makes the opponent's cards increase the chance of missing melee and ranged attacks by 15%. As melee and ranged cards are used a lot in battles, this ability will be useful in practically all battles and even though 15% seems "low", the amount of times your opponent will miss the attack will be high, especially if you use cards with the ability Flying or Dodge.

I believe that the biggest advantage of using Spirit Hoarder is its abilities, but as it is a neutral deck card the summoner's possibilities are quite high, so using a summoner that increases magic attack can make it even more useful and even if its speed is low this can be changed by using cards with the swiftness ability or with the Reverse Speed rule where the card with the lowest speed attacks first.

Value

Let's also talk a little about the price of the card currently that can be found in the marketplace in Splinterlands or trying your luck in the chaos legions packs.

In terms of values Spirit Hoarder (1 BCX) is currently $5.42 and this value in my opinion is low for a useful legendary card like it, but as the DEC is below the ideal value that was established by the Splinterlands team, the values of the legion chaos packs have dropped in price and so have their cards, but I believe that after the packs are sold out, cards like the Spirit Hoarder will go up in price and at that time buying it now that it has a low price maybe it's a great investment for your deck or even to make gains by selling the card later. This can also happen now that DEC will no longer be used as gains in ranked battles.

In peakmonster there is a tool that shows the sales chart of a chart in daily, weekly and monthly periods. Let's take a look at how many Spirit Hoarder cards were sold this week.

190 cards were sold within a week and the average price was $4.839, which is 10.8% lower than the current price. As the market is volatile, having a tool like this is very useful because it gives you an idea of a good value to buy the card and as the average price is $4.839 this means that some cards were sold below that value and this shows a good opportunity to buy for her, whether for her battles and making future profits from the sale or even to make some short-term profits.

That was my post about the Spirit Hoarder card, if you want you can also look and participate in my daily giveaway that can be found on my blog. Bye!

LORE

When the Chaos Legion opened their portals to begin the invasion of Praetoria, the great vortexes tugged at the edges of time and space, drawing in matter from other realms. These portals were so powerful that other beings were dragged through against their will, snatched from their own worlds. And so it was that the Spirit Hoarder found itself walking the lands of Praetoria. No one truly knows where it originated from, but the consensus remains the same: They wish the Spirit Hoarder would return and no longer blight the Splinterlands with its wicked presence.

Described as almost dryad-like in its appearance by the few that have lived to tell the tale, the Spirit Hoarder is a faceless creature aside from two large, yellow eyes. Its body is a deep green with tributaries of aqua blue running through its skin, converging into jagged dorsal vertebrae along its back, and the uneven ruts of its head almost look like broken wood jutting away from the otherwise smooth and serene outline of its body. The alien appearance of this creature makes it difficult to tell where it resided on its home world, and it is likely at some point in evolution its habitat was in water, but now it is clear that it makes its home on solid ground and is completely terrestrial.

Granted, it is a docile looking creature, but the gnarled staff it carries, with branches twisted into a series of synchronised patterns, holds a sinister, spinning orb of power. It is a mystic force, the likes of which has never been seen before. This is the Vault of Spirit Hoarders and the one true source of its power. If one were to look at the orb closely enough, they would see the tormented spirits drifting inside, desperate to be free of the anguish prolonged by their eternal prison. What makes the Spirit Hoarder so utterly terrifying, though, is the indifference in which it stalks the land. The Spirit Hoarder cares not of the source of souls it takes, with both Praetorians and Chaos Legion having fallen victim to its obscene harvesting.
