Hello everyone, welcome to another post about Splinterlands. In this post I will talk about the Owster Rotwell card and because I consider it an incredibly useful card for battles, I will also make a small demonstration of its power on the battlefield.
Owster Rotwell is a rare summoner from the Promo edition that belongs to the death deck, he has 8 levels and his function on the battlefield will be to grant the Magic Reflect ability to all his monsters.
Summoners also have another important function which is to limit the level of cards according to their level, so even if summoners don't increase in power when they level up, you will need them at higher levels to use more powerful monsters.

Now let's talk about Owster Rotwell's usefulness on the battlefield with the Magic Reflect ability it will grant to all your monsters.
The Magic Reflect ability, as the name implies, works as a counter to magical attacks. When a magic attack hits a card that has the Magic Reflect ability it will be activated and will deal 1/2 of the damage done to the card that attacked with magic attack.
Explaining it in a simple way, let's take as an example a card with 2 magic attack, this card attacked a card with the Magic Reflect ability and did 2 damage, the Magic Reflect ability will be activated and will do half (1) damage on the card that dealt the magic attack damage.
The Magic Reflect ability is a great ally in battles against cards with magic attack and you can be sure that it will give you a good advantage when your opponent uses cards with magic attack. Summoner Owster Rotwell will grant Magic Reflect ability to all your monsters so it will be the perfect counter since all your monsters will fight back when a magic attack hits them.
In battle I choose to use Owster Rotwell as my summoner because the chances of my opponent using cards with magic attack is very high since there is the Fog of War rule in battle.
With the Fog of War rule all monsters lose Sneak, Snipe and Opportunity abilities. This means that cards with melee attack are at a great disadvantage in the battle since they will only be able to attack in the first position and therefore the chances of my opponent using cards with magic attack are high since cards with magic and ranged attack are usually the ones most used in this type of battle.
I wasn't wrong and using the summoner Owster Rotwell was the right choice since most of my opponent's cards are magic attack, so I have a big advantage in this battle.
To further increase my chances of winning I also used the Cabalist card which has the Amplify ability, with this ability Magic Reflect will increase damage by +1 and will be of great help and further increase my advantage in battle.
In the end my opponent couldn't resist for long as my attack was strong and the counterattack too so the battle didn't last many rounds until I managed to achieve victory.
