And all I could recite in my head while reading through this was the adage about spanking a child with one hand and yet, petting him with the other.

Yesterday, I came across a video of a psychologist urging parents to be purposeful and conscious in the life they build for and around their kids.

One truth some parents fail to realise is that sometime, someday, somewhere, their children will sit in the midst of people they don't know and talk "about" them.

What it felt like to be raised as their child, in their home and around them. Of course, they won't give account of the whole story but rather what stayed with them; the feelings, the atmosphere and version of them they got to experience.

I vividly remember that even the times I fake-cried, my mum would still coax me like I underwent a trauma and getting to know about the actions of this "mother", I cant seem to stop shaking my head.
Neglecting the emotional health+ of a child is one of the easiest ways to kill his or her inner self and she does it so effortlessly. Bravo! 😒😑
