I took some of my larger stones that ive found at the Diamond Hill mine and broke off the crystals. I find that alot of great finds tend to have stone on one side and crystals on the other. So taking those and trying to carefully remove the big rock chunks so the crystals dont take up as much space.
These were found at the Diamond Hill and have many Iron and manganese specimens. I found crystals of all shapes and sizes at this location. Some large terminated ones, druzy styles that cover one surface of the stone and many other interesting mixes of stone and crystal.
The dig site these were found are in South Carolina, it is a few hours from me but a fun drive as I get to see some fire towers on the last leg of the journey.
A few large finds had crystals growing inside the rock. I broke them open but did not find anything inside unfortunately.
