At the end of last year I was lucky enough to pick up a brand new 2017 BRZ with STI trimmings, leather/heated seats, tinting and paint protection with the insurance money from my last car - a 2016 BRZ that had an unfortunate roll down a hill after going through a patch of diesel on a corner in the twisties.
If you ever get a chance, take one of these 86/BRZs out for a spin. Even in stock form, they are amazing. If you ever buy one, mortgage part of your house, modify and turbo charge it!
I'm in my 8th month of ownership and I still can't stop gushing about it - that's saying something!
I love this beast, and (when not raining) drive it every day through twisty hills - at least 50km - 100km.
The car is fully legal and engineer certified.
The modifications started at 32km on the clock for this one. I literally drove it from the dealership to my car guy.
The list of mods I have so far are:
It's doing 213rwkw on 98 pump gas. It's basically a road legal race car - I could go a bit more power going E85, more boost, some injectors and a fuel pump, but I've spent enough money on it this year, and it would be too much for regular driving.
Without further ado... here are some pics.
Sure, this isn't some wide body big wing monstrosity, but the performance is absolutely amazing. I've come from a WRX, and tracked an STI, and this car eats them for breakfast, and leaves me with a huge grin on my face every time I drive it. I've had some good twisties driving action with a Maserati, a Honda NSX, an old-school Godzilla, and about 20 or so 86/BRZs.
I hope tomorrow is sunshine and no traffic! If you're in one of the twins and I see you, I'll probably wave.
Cheers,
