It had been raining all week and the weeds seem to be growing taller than the plants themselves. With the lock-down still on all I can't even go out for a drive as I usually do. The weekend curfew is very strict here and you need special passes to go out of your home. So I decided to spend time in my garden weeding and fertilizing my plants. Thankfully it was quite sunny this weekend but by mid morning the heat became unbearable. It was time for some lemonade and some chilled fruit wedges from the fridge.

Here are some scenes from my garden.

The succulents are looking pretty in their summer colors. This little guy needs to go into a bonsai training pot or he will tilt and break as he is top heavy and its wildly windy here. Since I have a roof top garden I need to be careful about how I place them. However, since I can't buy containers any right now due to the lock- down, I just pulled out the weeds and gave it a bit of a pruning removing some of the crowed branches to allow for some air circulation and light.

This orange hibiscus could take the sheen off the sun with its brightness. It has been blooming in abundance over the last few weeks. The flowers are so huge and heavy that they tend to hang down low and break the branches. I have no heart to prune them right now. They are the star attractions in my garden at this moment.

I was excited to see another one of my bonsai in bloom. My little pomegranate bonsai is now blooming, nonetheless since both these buds are male I don't expect to see fruits from these. Maybe soon it will have fruits, but who cares, Just seeing these in bloom is enough for me.

This is one of the plants that was ruined by the construction workers next door, so I am thrilled to see it grow back healthy. This plant had lost many of its branches as the tarpaulin they had left flying around got caught in this little plant and spun it around breaking so many of its branches.

Yay its good to see my Barbados cherries ripen. The plant looks amazing with lemon yellow leaves and these little deep red cherries hanging down. However, right now there aren't too many just about 6-8 of them, but I see a lot of tiny fruits in the making.

So many of my cacti are in bloom and it is pure joy to watch them as I work in the garden.

I saw this insect around in the garden, on my ivy gourd. The ivy gourd tends to draw a whole lot of pests to itself. I took some pictures so I could find some information about these bugs.

I took some pictures of the blue banded bees playing around with the melon flowers.

On Sunday I cooked some spaghetti with meatballs for lunch from scratch and the boys wolfed it down. This one is my older son's favorite. He came home for a quick visit. I know that the spaghetti doesn't look perfectly cut as you get in packets, but I assure you this is was so much more delicious than the store bought ones.

I gave my little darlings their usual weekend bath with the help of my son and fluffed them up a bit. Here they were seeing my older son off as he left for work after lunch and a couple of hours of sleep. They bullied my second son into lifting the up them so they could see their bro drive away to the end of the road. (my son isn't so happy that I was photographing him, but I assure him that he wasn't in the picture LOL)

It was a busy weekend by all standards with so much to do, not very different from my other weekends. It was fun all the same. One blessing I am grateful for during this lock-down is that I get more time with my boys now.
So the weekends are still noisy, but happy noisy. 馃ぉ

Now that the weekend is over here I am writing and documenting it, which is equally a fun thing to do.
