When children grow up and no longer need you for food, shelter, or school fees... what often remains is how you made them feel.
Because when survival needs fade, the emotional truth tends to stay. Adults don't usually pull away from parents who made them feel safe. They pull away from pain, from the memories no one ever apologized for, from the wounds they were told "never happened."
