unpopular opinion: Every country should require its children to learn English.

No, I don’t think English is better than any other language, and I’m not saying countries should abandon their native languages/cultures. Those should absolutely be protected and preserved. But… English has become the closest thing the world has to a common language. It’s widely used in business, travel, science, education, tech, entertainment, etc.
