Witnesses decided to soft fork the blockchain to supposedly save STEEM. They took control of Justin Sun's (Tron) accounts which forced him to take back control. He did this by getting exchanges power up the STEEM in their exchange. Then they voted new witnesses that Justin Sun created and took back control of the blockchain and reversed the blockchain back to a version before the softfork.

The result is a bunch of STEEM got powered up.
